Melanie Stephenson, MSW, LCSW

About Me

Melanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 17 years of private practice experience, passionate about working with patients who are coping with chronic mental health issues. She earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Radford University and her master's degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Melanie specializes in Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, grief and loss, life transitions, women’s health, and suicidal ideation. Melanie practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is LBGTQ+ affirming.

Melanie works with individuals aged 18+ and greatly enjoys working with those over 65.  Melanie provides compassionate and non-judgmental support. She will meet you where you are in your journey to gain a better understanding of self, and a healthy, effective management of symptoms. 

In her free time, Melanie loves spending time with family and friends. She enjoys hiking, college basketball, and reading.
