About Me

Kristin is a dual board-certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in mental health and psychiatric conditions, with a focus on medication management. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jefferson College of Health Sciences, a Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Radford University Carilion, and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Radford University. She has provided neonatal, pediatric, and adult care in diverse settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, and retail clinics. Kristin is also affiliated with the Firefighter Behavioral Health Alliance (FBHA).

Kristin’s firsthand experience with the surge in inpatient psychiatric admissions, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, fueled her passion for increasing access to high-quality mental health care. She is committed to eliminating mental health stigma by empowering patients to speak openly about their experiences. She firmly believes that no one should feel shame or guilt when learning to manage a mental health condition. With a foundation of empathy and a relaxed communication style, Kristin creates a welcoming and supportive environment for her patients.

Outside of her professional work, Kristin enjoys spending time with her family, visiting Disney, and exploring the outdoors. A devoted dog lover, she occasionally brings her dog, Hope, to the office.
